Far From Folsom The Johnny Cash Tribute brings an authentic and energetic interpretation of music from the legend, Johnny Cash. With over 50 of Johnny Cash’s hit songs that span for over 6 decades, Far From Folsom delivers a knockout performance with such tunes as “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Ring of Fire”, “Hurt”, “Jackson”, and “Rusty Cage”.
Ted, “the rhythmplayin, guitar swingin, lead vocalist” grew up in Hanover, Virginia. Captivating audiences since he was a fetus with his charismatic ambition to entertain, Ted has had the opportunity to perform for audiences all over the U.S. Ted plays several different instruments including the guitar, piano and harmonica from which crowds love to hear at shows. His authentic Johnny Cash sound has made him a hit in Nashville, with his authenticity and devotion to portraying the “Man in Black”.
Shawn, “the fast fingering, blues jammin, lead guitarist”, originally from Houston, has played a variety of music including blues, rock, country and jazz. He stepped into the Blues scene while living in Austin for five years before moving to Nashville. He’ll turn heads and take names later with his original and authentic style.
Rande Hall, the rockin upright bassist/backup vocalist, hails from St. Ignatius, Montana. Slappin’” Mr. Slapsky”( his 1939 Kay Doublebass) & singing harmony with Ted is what he does best. Over the years Rande has shared the stage with the Bonnie Raitt, The Outlaws, Vassar Clemens, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Conlee, Bobby Bare and Commander Cody. He is presently taking private lessons from former Johnny Cash bassist Dave Roe.
Derrick, “the keepin the train a rollin percussionist and backup vocalist”,is originally from New Deal, Texas, graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. Upon completing his undergrad, Derrick attended Indiana University where he completed his Master’s Degree in Music Technology. While living in Indiana, he worked as a freelance instructor, percussionist, and recording engineer. He was credited as the Assistant Audio Technician for Gospel Superfest 4, 5, and 6 in New York and Atlanta.
